Would we be asking Cursor to write code? I am not sure how a non-coder like me could build this app without learning the basics of coding.

Would that mean we will promote the Cursor app to write the app and code for us and we tinker on top of it?

Correct! And through that learn coding by osmosis

great idea. i really liked your roam research course (which I still use heavily), so i’m really interested to try your new course out. one question: i’ve been playing with python so far and i thought it would make most sense to stay in this programming language. you have decided to use other languages. how useful is it to combine python and javascript? isn’t this an overkill for a finance person that just wants more control over my ai related projects?

The main reason I'm using Javascript is so you can build interactive software you could use in your browser or on your phone.

I don't think it's overkill to know how to do both, I use Python for some local things as well but won't cover that in the core material.

I saw your reasoning for picking Cursor (local dev, etc.) but I'm curious if you've tried any of the other newer options, Windsurf, Lovable, maybe Softgen, as well as other local dev options like Cline. If so I'd be interested in your thoughts. I'm seriously considering the course, but I've already been doing a fair bit of amateur coding directly via the chat interfaces in multiple models and wanting to pick the best tool/chain to upgrade my process, particularly when it comes to maintainability, refactoring, code length issues vs. context windows, etc.

Went with Cursor because it’s less fancy and less handholdy, while still doing the bulk of the coding for you. People have had a lot of complaints with the newer fancier tools (Bolt Lovable Replit etc) because they hit errors and dont know how to fix them. Since Cursor is just VSCode with AI attached you’re learning to actually build software from zero, with an extremely helpful pair programmer, so you’ll be able to get past the roadblocks of the fancy tools easier later when you try them.

Sounds good! I have wanted to move toward that kind of setup (a VSCode plugin), hence my interest in Cline. I will probably still try that alongside Cursor if I do go for the course.

Hi Nat, can I pay $399 in crypto, taking advantage of the $100 off?

@Gabriel Yanagihara check this out. Nat’s got something cooking

Hey Nat, thank you for sharing another learning opportunity. I recently read Crypto Confidential. Really insightful.

Curious to consider enrolling in the course. Can you tell me the possible domains one can get into after this course, especially when personal productivity is not my thing as I have zero technical understanding and coding experience or knowledge?
